Every time I play around with a new product idea, I use Raphael (the red one- his favorite) as my prototype. So, even if an idea doesn't work out, I gift him with the model and he's unfailingly thrilled (have I mentioned he's supportive and awesome?!).
For part of Father's Day, I gave him my latest prototypes (that he hadn't seen yet!) and were a big hit. I enjoyed making Raph so much, that I decided to go ahead and make Mikey as well. I plan on working up Leo and Donny to complete the collection.
The designs are based on my first cross stitch keychain designs.
I've wanted to do a canvas art version of the designs for a while and am still not 100% sure if I'm going to include these in the shop. I think I might do some fine tuning first and then go from there. But I definitely enjoyed making these!
If you want to make your own, you can find directions similar to what I did HERE.
For mine, I just blew an image file of my design to fit 8.5x11 paper. Ha- and I used pliers to bend one prong of a corn cob holder and used that as my punch (they suggest bead reamer)!
