about...
...the designer.
Kat. Miller, the designer behind Cardinal House, started making jewelry as a child. Really, there was no choice in the matter as she came from a family of artisans!
Her grandmother, Edie, was something like the craft mafia boss of the family. Edie ran her own business, Lienhart Dollhouse, for decades down in Florida. Kat grew up touring the Southeast helping Edie out at arts & craft shows, visiting wholesale showrooms, and learning how to create her own designs.
While some members of the Lienhart clan focused on woodworking, welding, crocheting, needle working...Kat narrowed in on jewelry, sewing & painting. Her love of art and architecture eventually led into studying interior design, of which she earned her BFA.
When her design office went through a renovation back in 2008, she intercepted multiple boxes of discontinued fabric sample books from being tossed. After that, Kat. started up Cardinal House to sell fashion and home accessories mostly incorporating the reclaimed goods and her arsenal of vintage beads handed down from Edie. Now it's on to world domination by flowers, what else?!
